Storefront Glass Installation & Repair in Miami, FL
Miami-Dade is part of Florida’s High-Velocity Hurricane Zone, and storefront glass here has to be impact-rated and approved. We install, repair and replace commercial storefronts, doors and impact glass across Miami.
What happens when you call
Talk to a glazier
Tell us what broke or what you need built. We ask about glass type, opening size, frame condition and whether the space is secure.
Make it safe, then make it right
Broken openings are boarded or temporarily glazed first. Then the opening is measured and the permanent glass is ordered to fit.
Written scope, clean records
You get a line-item estimate and photos of the damage and the finished work for your landlord or insurance carrier.
Storefront glass in the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone
Miami-Dade and Broward counties are designated a High-Velocity Hurricane Zone under the Florida Building Code. Exterior glazing on commercial buildings has to resist wind-borne debris and design wind pressures, and storefront systems, doors and windows used here need a product approval accepted in the HVHZ, such as a Miami-Dade Notice of Acceptance.
That changes how a storefront is repaired and replaced. You cannot simply swap in any glass or any door. The replacement has to match the approved system, or the opening needs a new approved product, installed according to the approval’s anchoring and glazing details.
Impact glass repair and replacement
Impact-rated storefront glass is laminated, and when it is hit it cracks but stays in the frame. That keeps the building closed, but the lite still has to be replaced, and it has to be replaced with glass that matches the approved assembly.
We identify the system, the approval and the glass make-up, order the matching laminated or laminated insulated unit, and reglaze it with the glazing method the approval requires, whether that is structural silicone, a specific glazing tape or a wet seal.
Hurricane season and storm response
Before a storm we can inspect storefronts for failed seals, loose glazing beads and doors that do not latch properly. After a storm the work is securing damaged openings, documenting every damaged component for the insurance claim and scheduling permanent replacement as product becomes available.
Older storefronts that rely on shutters or plywood can be upgraded to impact-rated systems, which remove the need for storm protection on those openings and protect the building year-round.
Salt air, sun and humidity
Coastal salt air corrodes aluminum finishes and hardware, and constant humidity and heat break down sealants and gaskets. Water intrusion at storefront sills and doors is one of the most common problems we see in Miami, and most of the time the cause is failed perimeter sealant, clogged weeps or a missing end dam rather than the glass.

Miami storefront glass questions
What owners, property managers and tenants in Miami ask us most.
Does my Miami storefront need impact glass?
Exterior glazing in the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone has to be impact-resistant or protected by approved shutters. New and replacement storefront systems need a product approval accepted in the HVHZ, such as a Miami-Dade NOA.
Can you replace one cracked impact lite?
Yes. We match the existing approved system and glass make-up and reglaze the lite using the method the product approval requires.
What is a Miami-Dade NOA?
A Notice of Acceptance is a product approval issued by Miami-Dade County showing a window, door or storefront system has been tested for the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone. It also specifies how the product must be installed.
Do you help with hurricane insurance claims?
Yes. We document every damaged lite, door and frame with photos and measurements and provide a written scope for your claim.
Why is water coming in at my storefront sill?
Usually failed perimeter sealant, clogged weep holes or missing end dams at the sill. We find the source and repair it rather than just caulking over it.
