Storefront Remodels & Facade Upgrades
A new tenant, a rebrand or a dated shopping center often calls for a new storefront. We remodel storefronts and upgrade facades with new glass, entrances and openings that change how the business looks from the street.
When a storefront remodel makes sense
- A new tenant needs a different entrance location or a wider opening
- A retailer or restaurant is rolling out a new brand look
- A shopping center owner is updating dated fronts to attract tenants
- The existing storefront is failing and the owner wants an upgrade, not a copy
- Energy costs and comfort complaints point to old single-pane glass
What a remodel can include
A storefront remodel can be as simple as new glass and a new entrance door in the existing opening, or as involved as widening openings, adding transoms, moving the entrance, adding a corner entry or replacing an entire facade of storefront. We work with the owner, tenant, architect and general contractor on the design, then provide the storefront, entrances and glass.
Working with landlords and tenants
In leased space, the storefront usually belongs to the landlord, and changes need landlord approval and must follow the center’s design criteria. We provide drawings and product data for the landlord’s review and coordinate with both sides so approvals do not hold up the project.
Codes that come with a remodel
Remodeling a storefront brings it under current codes for energy performance, safety glazing, accessibility at the entrance and, in hurricane regions, impact resistance and product approval. We design the new storefront to meet them from the start and handle the permit.
