Security & Solar Window Film
Window film improves existing glass without replacing it. We install security film to slow break-ins, solar film to cut heat and glare, anti-graffiti film and decorative privacy film.
Security film
Security film is a thick, clear polyester film bonded to the inside of the glass. When the glass is struck it holds the broken pieces together, slowing smash-and-grab entry and reducing flying glass. Its performance increases a lot when the film is anchored to the frame with an attachment system rather than just applied to the visible glass.
Solar control film
Solar film reduces heat gain, glare and fading on storefronts and office windows. Spectrally selective films block much of the sun’s heat while staying fairly clear. Before applying solar film, we check the glass type, because dark films on certain glass can increase thermal stress, and some film warranties are tied to the glass manufacturer’s guidance.
Other films
- Anti-graffiti film, a sacrificial layer that takes scratches and etching and is replaced instead of the glass.
- Privacy and decorative film, frosted, patterned or gradient, for offices, clinics and restrooms.
- Visibility markings on large clear glass so people see it.
- Branded film with logos and graphics for storefronts.
Film or new glass?
Film costs a fraction of new glass and can be installed with little disruption. New laminated or low-E glass performs better and lasts longer. We help owners decide based on the goal, the condition of the existing glass and the budget.

Security & Solar Window Film questions
Do not see your question? Call and talk to a glazing specialist.
Does security film make glass unbreakable?
No. It holds broken glass together and slows entry, especially when anchored to the frame.
Can solar film crack my glass?
On certain glass types, dark film can increase thermal stress. We check the glass before recommending film.
How long does window film last?
Typically 10 to 15 years on interior applications, depending on exposure.
Can film be removed later?
Yes. Film can be removed and replaced.
