Automatic Sliding Doors
Automatic sliding doors keep high-traffic entrances moving and accessible. We install new automatic entrances and repair the glass panels, tracks and frames that wear out with constant use.
Where automatic doors make sense
Automatic sliding doors are standard at grocery stores, pharmacies, hospitals and clinics, hotels and busy retail, anywhere people carry bags, push carts or use wheelchairs and walkers. They provide a wide, hands-free opening and help control conditioned air in high-traffic entrances.
What we install and repair
- Single and bi-parting sliding door packages with sidelites
- Glass panels in sliding and fixed sections, including safety glass replacement
- Tracks, rollers and guides that wear with constant use
- Breakaway panels that allow the doors to swing out for emergency egress
- Frames, headers and thresholds
Safety and inspection
Automatic doors must be set up and inspected to the industry safety standard for powered pedestrian doors, with sensors that detect people in the doorway and safe opening and closing speeds. Operator and sensor adjustments should be made by a technician certified for automatic doors. We coordinate that work and handle the glass, frames and mechanical components.
Glass in automatic doors
Glass in sliding doors and sidelites is a hazardous location under the building code and must be tempered or laminated safety glass. When a panel breaks, we secure the entrance, fabricate replacement safety glass to size and reglaze the panel.
